dnf at the odd down cyclo-cross

photo: www.bettybhandari.com

i lasted 3 laps at my local odd down cyclo-cross race in bath back on 4 january before my rear mech hanger sheered off due to clay like mud clogging up the jockey wheels of my rear mech. sadly i don't own a pit bike so had to dnf. at least I got to hold bella's hand back to the start area. i'll be back for more next season.

western league cyclo-cross warmley

this was the fourth time i have raced cyclo-cross at warmley (on the edge of bristol) since getting into cross three seasons ago.  the last time i raced there in muddy conditions it cost me a rear mech and chain.  thankfully there were many less who had this problem on sunday since it was wet enough that the mud just did not stick as well.  it was a hell of muddy race though but one of the most fun i have ever ridden.  unlike dry faster races i was not able to go completely full gas because i was concentrating on staying upright, which i did (just), and simply surviving until the end, which i did, so for me it was a win.  overall it was a good day for velo club walcot, with all four of us, nick, tav, james and i finishing.  here are a few images taken by my wife betty bhandari of the day.
